Content types and fields
Extend your site with custom fields or new content types (Full Website only).
Every theme comes with the built-in content types it needs, such as tours and pages. If your site is a Full Website, you can also add custom fields or create new content types.
Add a field to a content type
Open the content type in the sidebar and click Add field in the top bar, then configure:
- Field name: The label shown in the content editor.
- Field type: Choose the format of the data:
- Text & numbers: Text, Text (multi-line), Rich text, Number, Email, Date, Boolean, or List (text items)
- Media: Image (single) or Gallery (multiple images)
- Choices: Select or Multi-select
- Relationships: Link to one item or Link to multiple items (choose which content type it links to under Links to)
- Group slug and Group label (optional): Places the field inside its own tab in the editor (for example, slug
itineraryand label Itinerary). Leave both blank to place the field on the main Content tab.
Custom fields you add are saved with your content, but your theme controls what is displayed on your website. If your current theme isn't designed to display a custom field, its data is still kept safely in the editor but won't appear on the public page.
Add a new content type
On a Full Website, click Add content type under Content in the sidebar. (Booking Engine sites only use the built-in content types provided by their theme.)
