Connect a domain
Connect your own custom domain (such as www.yourtours.com) for your live site.
Your your-name.qwickraft.com address is only for previewing your draft. For visitors to access your live site, you need to connect your own domain before you can publish.
To get started, you will need a domain name that you already own from a domain provider (such as GoDaddy, Namecheap, Niagahoster, or Cloudflare).
Add your domain in Qwickraft
- Open Settings (under Configure in the sidebar) and go to the Domains section.
- Enter your domain name (for example,
www.yourtours.com) and click Connect domain. - Because connecting a domain changes where your visitors land, we will email you a 6-digit verification code. Enter the code to confirm.
Copy the DNS records to your domain provider
Under Copy these settings into the account where you bought your domain, Qwickraft displays a table of DNS records with Type, Name, and Value.
- Sign in to the website where you bought your domain.
- Open your domain's DNS or Domain records settings.
- Add each record exactly as shown in the Qwickraft table. Use the copy button next to each value to avoid typos.
Some domain providers do not allow a CNAME record on a root/bare domain (like yourtours.com without www). If your provider rejects it, connect www.yourtours.com instead, or move your domain's DNS management to a provider that supports root CNAME records (such as Cloudflare).
Verify the domain status
Return to Qwickraft and click Check domain. DNS changes can take some time to propagate across the internet—Qwickraft will also keep checking automatically over the next 24 hours.
Here is what each domain status means:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Waiting for you | Qwickraft cannot detect your DNS records yet. Double-check that they were saved exactly as shown. |
| Almost ready | Your DNS records were found, and your secure SSL connection (https) is being set up. |
| Working | Your domain is ready! Your site will go live on this domain as soon as you publish. |
| Not working | Something in your DNS records doesn't match. Compare your provider's DNS records with the table in Qwickraft. |
Once your domain status is Working, keep those DNS records in place at your domain provider. Removing them will take your live site offline.
Remove a domain
To disconnect a domain:
- In Settings → Domains, click the cross (
×) next to the domain, then click Remove domain. - Enter the 6-digit confirmation code sent to your email.
Once removed, visitors going to that domain will no longer reach your site. You can reconnect the domain later, but you will need to set up its DNS records at your provider again.
